Packers Take On Cardinals This Sunday

Packers versus Cardinals

The Packers face the Cardinals this Sunday, and Lambeau Field tickets are on sale now.  Will our Packers play up to the level of their next opponent?  At first glance, it seemed like they performed poorly this past Sunday.  Do fans realize how many first string players were on the sideline? Let’s take a look at what Green Bay had to work with.

The Packers two best wide receivers were out.  Jennings hopes to be back before the season ends.  Jordy Nelson sat out for the first time, nursing a bad hamstring.  James Jones, Donald Driver, Randall Cobb, and Jermichael Finley had to pick up the slack.  It was great to see Driver make a touchdown catch.  There won’t be many more for Mr. Driver, and the crowd gave him a good and proper level of praise.  Jones had seven catches, for a total of 78 yards. Finley had a pair of catches, and so did Driver. Cobb had one touchdown and a total of five catches.  It wasn’t Rodgers’ best day, but the Packers managed to get the job done.

Packers Defense A Bit Thin Last Sunday

On the defensive side, the Packers were working without Jerel Worthy, Mike Neal, Sam Shields and Nick Perry. We all know that Charles Woodson is not coming back for at least three more weeks.  If anything, it gave the defense a chance to define their new roles.  Some guys stepped up, while others just held on for the ride. Cecil Shorts gave the secondary fits last Sunday, and if the Packers had gone up against a team with a quarterback in top shape, the game could certainly have gone the other way.

Now the Packers face a Cardinals team that is surely feeling desperate.  The Cardinals blinked yesterday, and it wasn’t pretty. Their offense isn’t the best in the league, but their defense has left the door open for opportunities.  The team now stands at 4-4.  The Packers will have to play a better game on offense if they hope to overcome the Cardinals defense.  As for how the Packers match up with the Arizona’s offense, there  is less to worry about.  Green Bay needs to put the pedal to the metal, and put the game out of reach.

Bucks Tickets For Home Opener Available Now

BMO Harris Bradley Center

Our Milwaukee Bucks play tonight at the Resch Center in Green Bay.  They will take on the Timberwolves, and tip-off is set for 7pm.  This will be the last game for the Bucks before the real fun begins. We are just one week away from the start of the NBA season, and Bucks tickets for the home opener are available now. The Bucks will face the Celtics on the road in that first game.  They come home to the BMO Harris Bradley Center on Saturday, November 3.

Just in time for the regular season to start, the Bucks used their contract options to lock in Tobias Harris, Ekpe Udoh, and Larry Sanders.  Sanders played in over fifty games last season, and was the team leader in blocked shots. Udoh played in just over sixty games, with a scoring average hovering around 4.8, pulling down just under four rebounds per night as well.  This will surely be an interesting lineup. Tickets for all Bucks home games are available now.

Packers At Rams This Sunday | Green Bay Hopes To Win Another Road Game

Packers versus Rams Tickets

The Packers are on to St. Louis for the second of a three game road trip. Should Green Bay take out the Rams, they will be one game above .500.  This is not what the fans expected from the team that went 15-1 last year.  Still, they won it all when going 10-6 in 20l0. Great things can still happen for Green Bay.

If you are heading to the Edward Jones Dome, here are a few of the more interesting facts about the venue. It might not be as big as Lambeau Field, but the fans can certainly make enough noise to rattle opposing teams.

Edward Jones Dome Information

When it comes to seating, there are none other than twelve price categories to choose from.  The Rams have reserved the lower level sections that line up with mid field as their most expensive seat.  That would be sections 140-141 along with 113-114.  From there, the prices are lower as you fan out to the corners and end zone sections. The cheapest Rams ticket would be for seats in the upper-most level end zone. There are well over 100 luxury boxes at the venue. The Edward Jones Dome opened just 16 years ago. The cost to build it topped 280 million dollars.

Wisconsin Teams Come Up Big | Packers and Badgers Back On Track

Badgers and Packers

We had to wait until late Sunday night, but now we can celebrate the fact that our Badgers and Packers had big wins this weekend. Wisconsin took on Purdue, and Montee Ball made up for lost time, rushing for over 200 yards.  He also broke the Badgers school record for most touchdowns. The number stands at 72, with more games to play. What was the play that shut down any hopes of Purdue coming back?  It was Ball’s 67 yard run for daylight that came in the second half of the game. Ball was named Big Ten Player of the Week.  That comes as no surprise.

Packers Take Down Texans

As for our beloved Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers threw for six touchdown passes last night, smoking the 5-0 Texans on their home turf.  James Jones and Jordy Nelson were the recipients of five of those six TD passes.  The sixth touchdown pass went to Tom Crabtree on a third down play where Aaron had just milliseconds to release the ball.  Crabtree faked a block, moved right, and streaked for 48 yards and a score.

The win didn’t come without a price, as the Packers linebackers went down one after the other. We will see who sits out next week’s game at St. Louis.  Packers versus Rams tickets are available now. Let’s hope that our Wisconsin teams come up victorious once again.

The Badgers will play at home on October 20. They face the Minnesota Golden Gophers that day, and the winner of the game will take home the ceremonial Paul Bunyan Axe.  This will be the 122 time that the two teams have met. The historical win-loss record for this match up is currently at 58-55-8, with Minnesota in the lead.

Badgers Versus Spartans

Wisconsin will stay at home for two weeks, playing the Michigan State Spartans on October 27.  At the time of this post, Michigan also has a 3-2 record for 2012. They won a close game at home against Indiana, bouncing back from their one point loss to Ohio State. The Spartans look tough this year, losing to a pair of powerhouse teams in Notre Dame and the Buckeyes.

The Badgers are 4-2, with losses at Nebraska and Oregon.  The team took care of business against the Fighting Illini last week.  Going into the fourth quarter, the game was close. The Badgers scored three touchdowns in that fourth quarter, putting the game away at the 3:26 mark.  Montee Ball ran for daylight in that final drive, and had a net total of 116 yards on the day.
