Dave Matthews will come to Alpine Valley for two nights, starting on July 5. Fans of the band are happy to know that Dave considers Alpine to be one of his favorite venues. He’s not the only one who finds the East Troy venue to be top notch. Rolling Stone just listed it as a top ten destination for music lovers.
Dave Matthews formed way back in 1991. It all started with a home recording, and has blossomed into one of the world’s most popular bands. There have been a few lineup changes in the past 22 years, but the core of the band remains the same. The band’s early fan base was mostly made up of East Coast residents. They were the lucky ones, as the band toured that area heavily in the early years. By 1993, they released their first full length disk. One unique aspect of the group is that they allow fans to record their live performances.
The band’s biggest early hit was titled “What Would You Say.” That disk spent over two years in the top 100. Devoted fans have managed to keep the fires burning over the past two decades. Check them out at Alpine Valley this summer.
