Ryan Braun Hits First Home Run During First At Bat Of Spring Season
Ryan Braun helped the Brewers kick-off the spring season with a win on Saturday, putting up a home run in his first at-bat of 2013. Managing the team’s only hit of the day off of Oakland A’s starter Jesse Chavez, the outfielder’s first inning bomb put Milwaukee ahead for all nine innings.Braun was happy with the performance, even admiring at the length straight down the middle. Talking to reporters after the game, the career-dedicated Brewer said that with the power behind the ball on that homer, he knew he was at his best.Proving a statement made before the game, Braun claimed he was in top shape earlier in the season than ever before. He attributed the advanced progress to efforts to prepare for next month’s World Baseball Classic, in which he will represent the United States as a starting fielder.Manager Ron Roenicke was equally as impressed. The second year manager commented on Braun’s ability to get into high-gear faster than any player he has seen, even going so far as to say that the outfielder is simply capable of feats that others aren’t.Roenicke was also pleased with his young starting shortstop Jean Segura, who put up the Brewers other run of the day with a ground-out RBI. At just twenty-three, Segura has spent nearly all of his time in the minors, playing in his first ever Cactus League game that day. Taking the place of the aging Alex Gonzalez, he will be expected to learn quickly during the spring. The team’s young and inexperienced pitching corps also had a solid outing in their debut performance of the spring. Still competing for a spot in the rotation, right hander Mike Fiers got the start on Saturday, giving up a hit and a pair of walks over two innings. The young starter showed some nerves during the first, loading the bases on two outs, but recovered to escape any runs by striking out Chris Young to erase the threat. Holding the confidence during the Brewers at-bat, Fiers came back for a quick three-and-out second before ending his day.Seven relievers held Oakland at bay following Fiers exit, including impressive final innings from Micheal Olmsted and Jesus Sanchez. The pair combined for three strikeouts in the eighth and ninth to maintain the win, as well as no hits. Santo Manzanillo gave up the team’s only run to the A’s, allowing an RBI-double to outfielder Shane Peterson. -
New Kids On The Block Summerfest Tickets | With Boyz II Men And 98 Degrees
New Kids On The Block will perform at Summerfest on July 2. Tickets for the show are available now. Backing the group will be none other than 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. These three groups have over 200 million in album sales combined.
New Kids On The Block was a creation of Maurice Starr, who put out a casting call in the Boston area back in 1984. Hundreds of kids tried out, with Donnie Wahlberg being a standout in the crowd. Eventually, the final lineup came to be. It would be Donnie, Danny, Joey, Jonathan, and Jordan.
At first, the band failed to get traction in the Boston area. Starr was convinced that he could take these boys to the top. He did that with the band’s second album titled Hangin’ Tough. The song Please Don’t Go Girl was a ballad that the band put all their efforts into. After a retooling of their accompanying video, the song hit the top of the music charts. The band would go on to find success for the next four years.
As with most “boy bands” their advancing age dictated that their expiration date had come. By 1992, the band was facing allegations of lip syncing. Couple that with the fact that musical tastes were changing, and it seemed that their time had passed. Despite the writing on the wall, the band separated from the “star maker” Mr. Starr, and tried their best to continue as NKOTB. By that time, they were no longer playing huge venues. They are now back once again and on tour with two other great boy bands. Their devoted fans still come out in the thousands.

Will The Brewers Start Gallardo On Opening Day At Miller Park?
Attempting to maintain some level of anticipation, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke told reporters on the first day of Spring Training last week that he was still not certain who would start on the mound for Opening Day. Pestered by reporters, Roenicke did admit that it would be easy to guess who he had in mind for the first game of 2013 at Miller Park. Still, he insisted that he would follow tradition and allow spring training to be played out before making anything official. Barring a disaster, the manager was referring to his “go to” starter of the past four seasons, Yovani Gallardo. The twenty-seven year old will start his sixth season with the Brewers here in 2013. He’s more of a veteran now. Following in the footsteps of past leaders like Ben Sheets, CC Sabathia, and Zack Grienke, Gallardo says that he is ready for the added pressures of leadership, though it does feel a bit daunting at times.Gallardo had a taste of his future status on the team late in 2012, following the trade of Zack Grienke and the loss of Randy Wolf. Putting-up an impressive eight wins in his final nine appearances of that season, the Mexican native brought the Brewers back within striking distance of the Wildcard race. This effort impressed the Brewers staff enough to entrust him with the top spot in the rotation this year.
It can be said that it was easy to put Gallardo atop the rotation, with his extensive experience as a starter. Throwing nearly 3500 pitches last season; he topped the National League in that category, and was second to just the Mets R.A. Dickey in quality starts throughout the league.
Despite that experience, some critics have questioned the team’s decision to put so much faith in just a single starting ace. With 148 starts in his career, Gallardo bests the Brewers second-most experienced starter, Chris Narveson. The team’s second-most talented starter, and the only other lock for a spot in the rotation according to Roenicke, is Marco Estrada. Estrada has just thirty-two starts under his belt. Beyond that, the Brewers three other contenders, Wily Peralta, Mike Fiers, and Mark Rodgers have only thirty-six starts in the majors between them.
Brewers general manager Doug Melvin states that every one of those starters has the full confidence of the Brewers staff going into camp. Citing an encouraging final few months of 2012, Melvin told reporters that his squad would be ready to compete come April.
Adding credence to the general manager’s words was the above-average outings put up by Gallardo and crew last season. While Gallardo’s performances speak for themselves, Peralta, Fiers, Estrada, and Rodgers combined for winning records in 2012.Estrada had one of the best “strikeout to walk” ratios in the majors, managing 143 strikeouts to twenty-nine walks, over twenty-three starts. Fiers and Rodgers both had below 2.50 ERAs during their comparatively few starts in 2012. Narveson sat out most of the 2012 season with injuries, but a productive off-season and a solid start to spring training have made him a viable contender for one of three spots behind Estrada and Gallardo in 2013. -

The Milwaukee Admirals hockey team and fans welcomed Packers wide receiver Donald Driver to the ice last Friday night. The Packers all-time leading wide receiver in yards and receptions was to take part in a number of events during the game, as the Admirals honor his historic fourteen year career in Green Bay. Admirals president Jon Greenburg told reporters at the announcement that his organization felt obligated to celebrate Driver’s dedication to Wisconsin and his fans, predicting the night was going to be something to remember. While exact details of Driver’s participation during the night had not been released, it was known that he would be involved in the initial puck drop, a fan-included intermission activity, as well as an exclusive live interview with PA announcer Matt Moore. Lee Denim Jeans sponsored the event. On top of that, special pink jerseys that the Admirals wore for all three-games of the weekend home stand were part of a silent-auction following Sunday’s match-up. -

Brewers Opening Day Tickets 2013 | Spring Training Soon To Be In Full Swing
Do you have your Brewers tickets for opening day? The game is two months away, and Brewers are already excited. On April 1, the Brewers will take on the Colorado Rockies at Miller Park. That’s a day game, with the first pitch schedule for 1:10 pm. The Brewers and Rockies are set for a three game series. Following that, Milwaukee stays at home for another three game series. The Arizona Diamondbacks will be the Brewers second opponent of the 2013 season.
Brewers Spring Training Opponents
For those of you who love to follow the Brewers down to Maryvale, Ticket King has tickets for all spring training games. Those games start in just a few weeks. Their first home game at Maryvale will be on Feb 23, when they take on the Oakland Athletics. The team will play their first three games at home before they take a short trip over to Goodyear Arizona to play the Cincinnati Reds.
While some teams have their spring training in Florida or Texas, the Brewers will stay in the sunny state of Arizona the entire time. They have games scheduled for Tempe, Peoria, Phoenix, and Scottsdale, on top of the previous games already mentioned. They will play the following teams during spring training: Chicago White Sox, Cubs, San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies, Reds, Dodgers, Angels, and Indians.

Brewers Spring Training Tickets For Maryvale Park
In just thirty days, the Milwaukee Brewers will be taking on the Oakland Athletics at Maryvale Sports Park. Spring training games begin that day, and run through March 30. The final two spring training games will be held at Miller Park, when the Brewers take on The Chicago White Sox. Some folks wait for Opening Day in Milwaukee, while others make the trip to sunny Arizona to check out the Brew Crew, and many other teams. Maryvale spring training tickets are available for most games.
The Brewers play 35 spring training games before the big day. Some games are “split squad” affairs, where teams mix upcoming triple-A players with current starters. Heading to the warmth of Phoenix is an annual ritual for some Brewers fans. Heading to Maryvale in the dead of winter to see rookies and minor league players is more about getting some sun, than seeing the top notch baseball. Still, you might find yourself watching the next Ryan Braun.

Where To Sit At The BMO Harris Bradley Center
Where are the best seats in the BMO Harris Bradley Centerfor basketball? The answer my friends is “It all depends.”For college hoops, you might want to sit near the student section. For Bucks games, you might dream of sitting right behind the player’s bench. We’re here to help you find that perfect seat.Bucks Tickets On The Wood
Some fans want to sit with their feet “on the wood.” While it’s not often that we have courtside Bucks tickets, it does happen from time to time. Try your luck in section 101, row AAA. That’s a seat “behind the hoop,” but you can’t get any closer to the action.Marquette Student Sections
Some of us like to be near the student section, while others like to stay a few sections away from the screaming yellow horde. Either way, you need to know where “the kids” sit. That would be in sections 105-106 and 220 through 222. Sometimes they reach all the way up to the 400 level, directly above the sections mentioned earlier.Seats Behind The Bucks Bench
If you want to be close to the Bucks bench, try your luck with sections 201 and 202. A large portion of section 202 goes past the baseline, but seats near the aisle, working towards section 201 will put you close to the players. Sitting in section 200 and 214 is considered to be “mid-court.” from there you will have a great view of both benches, and the scorer’s table.Upper Level Seats BMO Harris Bradley Center
Some of the best seats for the “bird’s eye” view are in sections 400, 401, 443, 421, 442, and 423. These sections (in low rows,) make up the sidelines on both sides of the court. Try to grab lower rows in the upper level. It can get a bit scary when sitting past row P upstairs.
