Brewers Look to Improve Pitching Roster | Ticket King Inc.

Ticket King
The Milwaukee Brewers currently feel that their starting rotation needs help, and in terms of budget Milwaukee is tapped. So here are some low-cost options for the Brewers to consider via trade.
Wade LeBlanc/LHP/Mariners- The Seattle Mariners raced out to a fast start to begin 2019, but have quickly fallen back to earth, and now sit at 23-30, good for last place in the American League West. LeBlanc is performing well and could be added to the Brewers rotation for the stretch run.
Trevor Cahill/RHP/Angels- So far this season, Cahill is 2-4 with a 6.43 ERA. He is much better than those numbers suggest and the Angels are probably not going anywhere this season.
Mike Minor/LHP/Rangers- The Texas Rangers are 26-25, good for second place in the American League West. There is no way in the world they are going to keep this up though. Minor is having a great season, his best in a long time, currently sitting at 5-3 with a 2.64 ERA.
Drew Smyly/LHP/Rangers- Minor’s current teammate, Smyly, is another pitcher whose numbers so far in 2019 aren’t really telling of the type of pitcher he is. Smyly’s style would fit well in a ballpark like Milwaukee’s.
Merrill Kelly/SP/Diamondbacks- Kelly looks to be the guy they should really consider. He currently sits at 4-5 with a 4.75 ERA so far this season, not too good, but not horrible either. It would cost little to trade for him and he would add little to the payroll.

Big Ten Wisconsin Badgers and the March Tournament | Ticket King Inc.

NCAA Tournament Tickets
For college basketball fans, March Madness is just around the corner. As it currently stands, the Big Ten has 8 teams in contention for spots in the March College Basketball Tournament. Let’s look at all of them.
At the top of the standings are the red-hot Purdue Boilermakers, 15-3 in conference play, 22-7 overall, and a perfect 15-0 at home. The Boilermakers are led by their All-American guard and Big Ten player of the year candidate Carsen Edwards, who averages 23.5 points per game. According to Joe Lundari, the Boilermakers are the third seed in the South Region as of this moment. Right underneath Purdue in the standings are the Michigan Wolverines, 15-4 in conference play, 26-4 overall, and 17-1 at home. This is a very balanced team, and according to Joe Lunardi they are a two seed in the West Region. Hot in their tails are their in-state rival, the Michigan State Spartans, 14-4 in conference play and 23-6 overall. The Spartans, who are always dangerous in March, are the two seed in the East as of this moment.
After running into some troubles earlier this season, the Wisconsin Badgers have settled down, and are well on their way to getting back to the tournament. They sit at 12-6 in conference play and 20-9 overall. Power forward Ethan Happ is a double-double machine, average 17.1 points per game to go along with 10.1 rebounds per game. As of this moment, the Badgers are the projected four seed in the Midwest. Despite the bad loss to Penn State, the Maryland Terrapins are in the dance, currently sitting at 12-7 in conference play and 21-9 overall. As of this moment, Maryland is the projected five seed in the East. Right behind them are the Iowa Hawkeyes, 10-8 in conference play and 21-8 overall. Iowa is led by their sharpshooter guard Jordan Bohannon who can light it up with the best of them from deep. Right now, Iowa is the projected eighth seed in the South Region.
Two teams who are still in it but have work to do are Ohio State and Minnesota. The Gophers, who currently sit at 8-10 and 18-11 overall, are the projected 11-seed in the Midwest as of this moment. The Buckeyes who are also 8-10 in conference play and 18-11 overall, are projected as the 10-seed in the South. Every other Big Ten team would have to make a miracle run in the tournament to get in.
2019 is setting up to be another strong showing for the Big Ten in the NCAA Tournament.

Brewers 2019 Roster Changes | Ticket King Wisconsin

brewers-tickets

The Milwaukee Brewers shocked the baseball world in 2018, winning the NL Central over the Chicago Cubs, and then taking the Los Angeles Dodgers to seven games in the National League Championship Series. The Brewers didn’t have as active of an offseason as other teams, but they did make some moves.

Their biggest move this off season was the signing of All-Star free agent catcher Yasmani Grandal to a one year, 15 million dollar “pillow” contract. Grandal wanted to sign a three year deal at 15 million, but teams were only offering him 12 million for three years. So he settled for the Brewers offer, betting on himself essentially. The move could pay off big time for both teams. If Grandal has a big season, he could get his 15 million for 3 to 4 years next season.

Filed under the “smaller moves” category, Erik Kratz is back for one more season, and will backup Grandal behind the plate in 2019.

Another small, yet important move, the team decided to bring back super-utility man Hernan Perez for another season.

At first Brewers fans thought Corey Spangenberg would compete with Perez for the utility role, but they could end up carrying both. If they do, that would give them the ability to carry all the arms they can in that bullpen, as they would then have two guys on their bench that can play every position.

On January fifth the Brewers made the last move to break their outfield logjam by trading Keon Broxton to the Mets for right-handed pitcher Bobby Wahl, right-handed pitcher Adam Hill, and infielder Felix Valerio. Already gone were Brett Phillips and Domingo Santana, so that means the Brewers outfielders will be Braun, Yelich, and Cain.

Josh Tomlin is an intriguing move. Depending on how many arms get switched to the rotation from the bullpen, he could either occupy the fifth spot in the rotation or the long relief role out of the pen.

The Brewers last move of the off season appears to be the decision made this past weekend to bring back third basemen Mike Moustakas for 2019. This means Travis Shaw will start the year at second base. This move will allow the Brewers to keep Keston Hiura in Triple-A for the first month or two of the season.

Billy Joel Plays Miller Park in Milwaukee | Ticket King Wisconsin

Billy Joel Tickets

When you think of the “Piano Man” you surely think of Billy Joel. Lately, Joel has been spending time performing multiple shows at Madison Square Garden, letting the audience come to him. His time spent on the East Coast is totally up to him, as he’s got nothing more to prove. Still, we have a great show announcement for his fans. Billy Joel comes to Miller Park on April 26, one night, his only show in the Midwest as of this post.

He’s sure to play all the hits, seeing that he’s go so many of them.  Going back to 1973, when he first released “Piano Man,” he also performed the song Ballad of Billy the Kid, and You’re My Home. Get your Billy Joel Milwaukee tickets right here.
A few years later, he found success with Angry Young Man, New York State of Mind, and Movin’ Out. His first number one song didn’t come along for nearly ten years.

When the eighties came around, Joel changed with the times, and put out some solid pop songs like Allentown, Keeping the Faith, Don’t Ask Me Why, and Uptown Girl. It’s been almost thirty years since he’s produced a hit song, but nothing is stopping Mr. Billy Joel from riding the wave of nostalgia and memories.

Big Ten Basketball Update 2019 | Ticket King Wisconsin

Big Ten Basketball
The 2018-2019 college basketball season is in full swing, and it appears to be yet another strong season for the Big Ten. At the moment the conference has eleven teams that could make the tournament. Let’s look at them all.
The two teams with the most work to do are Northwestern and Purdue. After a strong 9-2 start to their season, Northwestern has fallen during conference play. Of their first four games in Big Ten Conference play, the Wildcats have lost to Indiana, Michigan, and Michigan State. Yes, those are three acceptable losses, but those defeats can’t keep piling up. If the Wildcats want to get back to the tournament, they must turn a few of those tough games into wins. With Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin all coming up, they will have have a good chance to do that. Meanwhile,Purdue has begun turning it around in Big Ten play, winning two of their first three, including a solid 86-70 win over Iowa.
Iowa and Nebraska are in danger of squandering great starts to their season. Nebraska started 10-1 and Iowa started 11-0. Both teams are 1-3 so far in conference play. In fact, they played each other on Sunday and it was Iowa who came away victorious with a 93-84 win. The best player for the Hawkeyes, Jordan Bohannon scored a season-high 25 points to lead the way.
As we move up the Big Ten standings, we reach a trio of very solid teams- Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Maryland. The Minnesota Gophers are currently 12-2 including 2-1 in conference playand are riding a six-game winning streak. During this streak, the team has beaten Nebraska, Arkansas State, North Florida, North Carolina A&T, Mt. St. Mary’s, and most recently Wisconsin. The Gophers have a chance to keep that streak going with upcoming games against Maryland, Rutgers, Illinois, and Penn State. For Wisconsin, it appears as if, at least for the moment, they have shaken off a disastrous2017-2018 season. So far, Bucky Badger is off to an 11-4 start, including 3-1 in Big Ten Conference play. The Maryland Terrapins and Indiana Hoosiers are both sitting at 12-3 and 3-1 to open up conference play themselves.

The Best of the Big Ten So Far

Finally, we have the top three teams, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Michigan, in a position that is very much like last season. Ohio State, currently ranked 14th in the country, are 12-2 to begin the season, and 2-1 in conference play. Looking at the Buckeyes resume, they really don’t have any impressive wins over teams out of the conference, so they are going to have to play very well in their coming games. With all that being said, the Big Ten conference really comes down to two teams right now, Michigan and Michigan State. The Spartans are 13-2, including 4-0 in conference play, and their only two losses are to number one ranked Kansas and Louisville. Meanwhile Michigan is 15-0 on the season, already have wins over Villanova and North Carolina. However, the Wolverines have some tough road games coming up against Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio State, and Iowa, so the question being asked right now is who’s it going to be? Who is going to end the Wolverines dreams of an unbeaten season? All four of those teams are ideal candidates.

Badgers Hockey Coaches Remain Loyal to Wisconsin | Ticket King Inc.

Badgers Hockey Tickets
Wisconsin Badgers hockey tickets are in high demand, as the team hopes to improve on their previous record of 14-19-4. Tony Granato has the Badgers ready to play again this season.  There are great home games coming up at the Kohl Center, an on the road!

The Wisconsin Badgers are more well known for their football program, but this post we’re all about Badgers Hockey! The Badgers have taken to the ice since 1921, when Wisconsin took on Michigan four times that first year. The program didn’t come into focus until the 1960’s, when Ivan Williamson managed the program. As an independent NCAA team, the Badgers had a very short eight game season in the early years. they had their first victory in 1965, taking down the Golden Gophers in overtime.

In 1973, Wisconsin won their first national championship, at the “Frozen Four.” They defeated Denver by a score of 4-2 that weekend.  Four seasons later, the team would come out on top again, defeating Michigan. For three straight seasons in 1981 through 1983, Wisconsin would make to the finals, winning it all in 1981. The team has won the Championship game six times since 1973.

History of Badgers Hockey Coaches

Coaching the Badgers through the years has been no easy task. People in the Upper Midwest live and breathe hockey. John Riley took the position from 1963 through 1966, with a final record of 34-23-3. Bob Johnson worked from there, coaching the next nine seasons, winning the NCAA tournament in 1973. There was a “one and done” coach for the 1975-76 season, and he was followed up by two more tournament wins by Bob Johnson, who would wind up coaching the team for a total of fourteen seasons. Jeff Sauer would take over for the next twenty seasons. He coached the team to a pair of NCAA championships, and another four playoff spots throughout the years. He left the team with an overall record of 489 wins, 306 losses, and 46 ties. For the next fourteen seasons, Mike Eaves would take over. He was team captain in 2005-2006, when the Badgers again won the NCAA tournament. For the past two seasons, Tony Granato is head coach.
