Milwaukee fans of alternative rock group Pearl Jam
were excited to learn that the band will return to southeastern Wisconsin for the first time in three years this October. Not since 2011 have Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Jeff Ament, and Matt Cameron played closer than Chicago, but on October 20, they will make their debut at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. The show will be the ninth in a ten-date fall tour announced last week.
Dubbed the Lightning Bolt Tour
, Pearl Jam’s first American trek since 2012 begins in Cincinnati on October 1. The tour lasts just through the month, highlighted by two stops at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Other Midwestern dates include Detroit on the 16, Moline on the 17, and St. Paul on October 19.
The Alpine Valley Music Theater hosted the group in fall 2011, the last time Pearl Jam appeared in Wisconsin. That show was part of their 20 anniversary celebration tour, Pearl Jam Twenty. The September 3 concert that year was also the tour’s opener and the only American stop.
2014’s Lightning Bolt Tour will promote the band’s 10 studio album of the same name. The October 20 show will also feature selections from the group’s vast 10 album discography that dates back to 1991.
