Petty has a catalog that includes 13 full length releases, going back to 1976. He hit “Gold” with his third album, titled Damn the Torpedoes. That disk contained three songs (Don’t Do Me Like That, Refugee, Here Comes My Girl,) that album went platinum, way back in the day. His next album produces the hit song “The Waiting.” In 1991, Petty released “Into the Great Wide Open” an album that charted in the top 15 in the United States, and reached lofty heights in four other countries. Ten of his albums reached “Gold” status in sales, and five of those made it to “Platinum.” Petty has the ability to reach a very broad audience.
Tom Petty’s last release was a live album titled “Live at Fenway Park.” It was a self release that hasn’t charted. If you head to a Petty show, you can be assured that you will be entertained all night long. So many great songs have come from this artist’s mind. Fans in Milwaukee will agree with us.
