Brewers Holding On to First Place, but Not For Long | Ticket King Inc.

The National League Central has experienced intense parity in 2017. Or, you could also say that the NL Central is just a very mediocre division. At least that is how the records show it to be. Let’s take a moment to run down three NL Central teams, and take a look at where they stand at this moment.
The Milwaukee Brewers currently sit on top of with a record of 27-25, but they are going through their worst stretch of the season, winning just two of their past nine games. Many experts are wondering if this is the beginning of the Brewers fade. After all, the Brewers record is one of the bigger surprises of the season so far, and the fact that they are in first place, heading into June is almost shocking. Specifically, it’s been the pitching that has let them down over the last nine games. In total, Milwaukee has given up a total of 48 runs in the last nine games, including 42 in those seven losses. Outside of one of the two wins, their offense sputtered, scoring just 21 runs in the seven losses, and six of those runs came in one game. Eric Thames, who was “The Story” early in the 2017 baseball season, has really cooled off. After hitting 11 home runs in April, he has really struggled in May, hitting just two home runs, both of which came earlier in the month. Thames last two runs were back on May 9. He has hit just .203 for the month as well, and his average overall has dropped from .345 at the start of the month to .278 as of the morning of May 31. He needs to pick it up if the Brewers are going to stay in first place. The Brewers schedule doesn’t get any easier either. After they finish up this series with the Mets, they have three at home this weekend against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles is one of the hottest teams in baseball at the moment, having won six in a row, and have surged into first place in the National League West. After that, they Brew Crew has four more games at home against the San Francisco Giants, whose struggles so far in 2017 have been well documented. But, they are the Giants, and they could come to life at any moment. After that long home stand, they hit the road for seven games. The first three games are against the Diamondbacks, and the next four will be against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Cubs In Disarray

Fortunately for the Brewers, the Chicago Cubs aren’t doing any better at the moment. The Cubs currently sit at 25-26, good for second place, and have lost five in a row. For the Cubs, that high-priced, overpaid starting rotation, has failed miserably to this date. Jon Lester is not what he once was, and Kyle Hendricks is not dominating like he did a year ago. Jake Arrieta is too focused on his upcoming free agent contract negotiations, led by the well known and highly criticized super agent Scott Boras. During their five-game losing streak, all of which have been on the road, the bats have gone dead silent for the Cubs. They have scored just eight runs in the last three games, and in their first two they were shut out. Kris Bryant, the reigning National League Most Valuable Player, is really struggling. He was batting just .130 over the last week. After they finish up their series in San Diego, the Cubs get to come home for 10 games. The first three are against the Miami Marlins, the next three are against the St. Louis Cardinals, and the last four against the Colorado Rockies.

Cardinals Need Spark

Then we have the St. Louis Cardinals a team who’s offense has been stuck in park for the first two months.  As for pitching, their rotation has been spotty at best, and their bullpen has been on and off. Yet, here they are, sitting at 24-25, just 1.5 games out of first place. How do they manage that? If you look at their game by game record so far this season, they rarely lose close games. That is the mark of an organization that keeps the faith, as the innings run down. However, one can’t ignore that they are just 3-10 in their last 13 games. Nobody is hitting. Their best hitter, Matt Carpenter, is batting just .226 for the season, and Randall Grichuk, who they expected to take a big jump, is batting just .222 with four home runs and 19 RBI’s. They need to start hitting, or they will find themselves way behind the Cubs or Brewers. At the time of this post, they have two more games against the Dodgers, and then the Cardinals hit the road for seven. The first three are against the Cubs, and the next four are against the Reds. This “parity” is short lived. One of these teams will break from the pack. Most likely, the Cards and Cubs will be the two teams to rise above the rest of the NL Central. For now, Brewers fans should celebrate. Heck, we might even see them keep the pace until the All Star Break, but don’t bet on it. Two powerhouse teams can’t be held back for too long.

NBA Finals | Round Three for Both Teams | Ticket King Inc.

The NBA Finals have finally arrived, and as expected, it is the Cleveland Cavaliers vs the Golden State Warriors. Both teams rolled through what had been a rather uneventful NBA playoffs so far. Cleveland has only lost one game through their run to the finals, and the Warriors went undefeated. Game one is Thursday night at 7 p.m. on ABC.

As we begin these Finals, the Warriors are the favorites according to the Las Vegas oddsmakers. The Warriors are seven point favorites in game one. According to the experts, the Warriors see Kevin Love as the “weak point” in the Cleveland machine. They intend to force the ball in Love’s direction, and make him beat them, not Kyrie Irving or Lebron James. Of course, this tactic has been tried many times by many different teams, although none of them are nearly as talented as the Warriors are. Cleveland intends to use the same formula they have used the entire playoffs. They manage Lebron James’ minutes before the fourth quarter, and rely on the likes of Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving to keep them in the game. The Cavs will then hope that Lebron James takes over in the fourth quarter. The league and its sponsors hope for a close and exciting Finals. As we have the same two teams for the third year in a row, it would probably take a seven game, “back and forth” series to keep fans glued to their televisions.

Brewers Playing Great Baseball | Ticket King Inc.

The Milwaukee Brewers are off to one of the most surprising starts in baseball this season. Entering May 15th, the Brewers sit at 21-17, good for second place in the National League Central, one game back of the first place St. Louis Cardinals. Currently, the Brewers are winners of six of their last seven, against the Red Sox and Mets of all teams. The first win did come against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road 6-2. Zach Davies got the win and the Brewers bullpen did a great job for the final 3.2 innings. After that the Brewers came home for three against the Red Sox. In game one, Milwaukee won a slugfest 11-7, picking up 13 hits. The Brewers won game two 7-4, getting to Red Sox starter Kyle Kendrick early and often. The Brewers lost game three 4-1 as the bats fell silent. Interleague games are kind of neat because fans get to see players they don’t normally get to see, especially those who are Miller Park regulars.
Milwaukee then welcomed the Mets for a three game series. In game one, the Brewers hit three home runs off of starting pitcher Matt Harvey, who is just not right in the head at this point time. Milwaukee got six solid innings from Matt Garza one the mound. Garza is building some value come the trade deadline. In game two the Brewers got 8 runs in the 5th inning on their way to an 11-4 victory. In game three the fans got quite the treat. The Brewers fell behind 9-0 after five innings. The bats the came to life in the 6th inning as Milwaukee came storming back, scoring 11 runs over the next three innings, winning 11-9.
Now Milwaukee heads out on the road, beginning with a four game series in San Diego. Following that it is a three game series in Chicago against the Cubs, who have been very inconsistent so far in 2017. We will see how long this holds up. They can’t keep scoring 11 runs and/or winning close games. If they want to contend, they have to start showing the ability to pick up good solid 6-3 victories.

Zac Brown Band Tickets | Summerfest 2017 | Ticket King Inc.

Returning to Summerfest in 2017 is the Zac Brown Band. It seems that Milwaukee is one of the band’s favorite stops, because this is show number three for “ZBB” during the ten day festival. For Zac Brown Band tickets, we have you covered. The show date is set for July 1. This is one of their many stops on their “Welcome Home 2017” tour, which started on May 12, and runs well into the fall. Their first two shows are set for the band’s home down of Atlanta.

This year, the band is supporting the 2017 disk titled “Welcome Home” where the group tried to get back to their country sound. Some say that their effort is more a nod to their best selling album titled “The Foundation” which topped the “Platinum” status five times over. Also expected to be played at the upcoming show are the songs: Chicken Fried, Toes, Knee Deep, and Homegrown. Zac Brown Band has managed to snag three Grammys over the years.

Zac Brown Develops Camp Sites for Families

In Fayettevile, Georgia Zac Brown has invested time and money into developing a family campground. He looks to his past time spent as a camp councelor and feels that families would benefit from that experience. As a father of five children, Brown has strong ties to those roots. One huge fan of the Zac Brown Band is J.J. Watt. His music “Brings it home” for Watt.

Dierks Bentley Summerfest Tickets | Ticket King Inc.

Dierks Bentley comes to Summerfest 2017 on July 7th. Once again, he’s headlining the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. Opening for Bentley will be Jon Pardi and Cole Swindell. This tour is in support of his 2016 album titled “Black.” What’s Bentley all about? Having a good time.

Is Dierks Bentley popular enough to headline Summerfest? Well, he’s got 25 hit songs, 15 of which have hit number one on the country charts. Bentley has been going strong since 2003, when he released his second album. Not too many fans recall his 2001 effort, so we’ll start at 2003.

Dierks Bentley Discography

In 2001, Bentley released “Don’t Leave Me in Love” a forgettable effort that didn’t make a splash. He released that album on his own, and then included a pair of songs from that disk on his first major label debut. 2003 saw the release of a self titled album that made a splash in the country music scene. He followed that up with “Modern Day Drifter” in 2005. He had two number one hit songs from that album.

One year later, Long Trip Alone was released. He had a #1 hit song that year, and went on to release his greatest hits album in 2008. Every Mile a Memory was the follow up disk to his greatest hits, and it failed to crack the top ten. From there, he would go on to release five more albums, which brings us to 2016. All tickets for Dierks Bentley include admission to the entire Summerfest grounds.

Packers 2017 Schedule | Ticket King Inc.

The Green Bay Packers 2017 schedule has been released, and it is not one of the easier ones in the league.  Aside from the usual NFC North games, they will face the AFC North this year. Throw in the usual “marquee” games, and this upcoming season will be exiting.
They begin the season with the Fox “Game of the Week”, at home, against the Seattle Seahawks on September 10th. This will be an interesting game, not just because it is one of the league’s marquee matchups in recent years, but because of Eddie Lacy. This off-season, Lacy signed with the Seahawks, after spending his first four seasons with the Packers. If all goes well and he is not injured, this will be his debut for the Seattle and against his former team no less.
For week two, the Packers head back to Atlanta. The last time they were in Atlanta they got steamrolled by a red hot Falcons team in the NFC Championship game. This game, it will not just be the Falcons 2017 home opener, but the Falcons first game in their new stadium. The first two games are about as tough as it gets, league-wide.
Week three, the Pack faces the Bengals, a team that went 6-9 last year, and hopes to improve on that record in 2017. The team will play week four at Lambeau, and it’s the Packers vs. Bears! That’s a Thursday Night NFL game, with a 7:25pm start, broadcast on CBS and the NFL network.
Following the Bears game, they head to Dallas, for the rematch of the game of the year one season ago. That was the night that Aaron Rodgers played one of his best playoff games of his career. Following the Cowboys game, they head to Minnesota to revisit what has become one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL. The Packers “took care of business,” (along with those pesky Vikings) on Christmas Eve, last year.
Green Bay plays host for only one game in October, and that’s a noon start, against New Orleans on 10/22. From there, the weather turns colder, and the schedule gets a bit lighter.
If they can make it to the bye still in the hunt for the NFC North title, the second half of their season is much easier than the first. After starting at home against the Lions on Monday night, November 6th, then it will be a road game against the Bears on November 12th.
They will host the AFC Ravens on November 19th at noon. The Packers head to Pittsburgh for what could turn out to be the marquee game in the second half of the season. The Steelers are always in the playoff hunt, and they will once again have all those weapons on offense. This should be a very high scoring game.
Following the “Showdown in the Steel City,” the Packers come home for a game against the Buccaneers on December 3rd. It is two road games after that, as Green Bay will take on the Browns and Panthers. The 2017 Packers will end the season exactly how they finished the last one, at home against the Vikings on 12/23 (A Saturday game,) and on the road against the Lions.

Outlaw Music Festival Tickets | Summerfest 2017

They are calling it “A festival within a festival.” On July 9, Outlaw Festival comes to Summerfest. Who is the headline act? That depends on who you like. Some will come to see Willie Nelson. Others are fired up to see Cheryl Crow perform. For others, Bob Dylan will be the main draw. On top of that, Promise of the Real, Margo Price and Nathaniel Rateliff will also be on the bill.  This one is huge.

Outlaw Festival tickets for the stop in Milwaukee go on sale April 21st. Ticket King will have great seats at that time. All tickets include admission to the Summerfest grounds. This “festival” will be a first for Summerfest. It’s sort of a one day festival within a festival. The music will start at 2pm, as opposed to a headliner hitting the stage as the sun goes down. Ticket holders will be free to come and go from the amphitheater, as they pick and choose the acts that they would like to see. While most of the musical acts are “country” flavored, you will find some interesting music on state, to be sure.

Ticket King Predicts 2017 MLB Final Standings and Playoffs | Who Will Win it All?

We turned to our favorite sports guru T.J. Bryce to get a prediction on where every team in the MLB will wind up in October. Will the Mets take it all? Will the Chicago Cubs repeat? Can the Astros manage to topple the Windy City in the World Series?  It’s time for Major League Baseball 2017. Let’s dive right in, beginning with the National League.

National League

East
1. New York Mets (98-64) – The Mets didn’t make a lot of serious additions this off season, but they did finally get Yoenis Cespedes to commit long term to the club. He is all set for a huge season, and the Mets will benefit as a result. Also, the rotation appears healthy for the first time in two years. There is no rotation better than this one when it is healthy.

2. Washington Nationals (92-70) – The Nationals made headlines this off season when they emptied the rest of their farm for center fielder Adam Eaton from the White Sox. Many considered this an over pay, but still, he gives the Nationals what they need, a defensive anchor in center field.

3. Atlanta Braves (78-84) – Whoa, let’s slow down Braves fans. I know this is super good farm, and there is nothing not to be happy about in Atlanta at the moment (Other than you know, that Super Bowl meltdown. Okay that was low, but still), but let’s be reasonable first. Before we talk about winning the World Series, let’s finish somewhere other than last place to start with.

4. Miami Marlins (73-89) – The Marlins looked on the verge of breaking through a year ago. But, issues in the front office and the death of ace pitcher Jose Fernandez have this franchise reeling.

5. Philadelphia Phillies (68-94) – It appears so long ago now the Phillies had the biggest payroll in the National League and were one of its elite teams. Now, the Phillies are into a long rebuild. Hang in there Phillies fans; it’s going to be a while.

Central

1. Chicago Cubs (95-67) – The Cubs finally broke the curse a year ago. Yeah, that’s nice. They enter this season loaded again, but without closer Aroldis Chapman, who signed with the Yankees in the off season. The Cubs are still good, but they might not be as good as they were a year ago.

2. St. Louis Cardinals (93-69) – The success of the Cubs a year ago is not sitting well in St. Louis. They signed Dexter Fowler in the off season and they are banking on Carlos Martinez to take that next big step forward. Also, look for rookie catcher Carson Kelly to make things interesting at the trade deadline if he gets playing time early and performs. If he plays well, the Cardinals could look to move Yadier Molina. Yes, you just read that right.

3. Pittsburgh Pirates (88-74) – Once again, the cash-strapped Pirates had a quiet off season. Jung Ho Kang could not get his work visa due to DUI convictions and the Pirates now need to replace his production in the lineup, on the fly. They are also hoping Tyler Glasnow develops into an ace sooner rather than later. The Pirates are fading, that is no secret. 2017 is basically now or never in Pittsburgh.

4. Milwaukee Brewers (64-98) – The Brewers have a nice collection of young position players. They still have a ways to go though. They need a franchise cornerstone, other building blocks, an ace, and oh yeah, and a new pitching staff. But, they are headed in the right direction. Just hang in there Brewers fans, I can tell you from personal experience watching the Twins go through this same nightmare in the second half of the 1990’s that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

5. Cincinnati Reds (56-106) – These Reds are just bad. They should have the number one selection in 2018 though, so that is some good news.

West

1. San Francisco Giants (93-69) – Another year, more talk of the Giants and the World Series. Oh yeah, it’s their pitching that is going to get them there too. Stop me if you’ve heard this story before. I’m going to stop right now because there is really no point in saying anything else that the general public doesn’t know already about the Giants.

2. Los Angeles Dodgers (88-74) – The Dodgers are trying to be financially intelligent for a change. Instead of splurging this off season, they focused on locking up their own young talent, such as Jacob Turner. Their rotation is still Clayton Kershaw and not much else. If the Dodgers continue to fade, I wonder how long before Kershaw asks out of Los Angeles.

3. Colorado Rockies (80-82) – The Rockies are improving, albeit quietly. The same question that has been asked since this team came into inception needs to be asked again. Will they be able to pitch enough to contend? The answer is no.

4. San Diego Padres (75-87) – The Padres, seeming forever stuck in fourth place, are there once again. Not much to say here. Move along.

5. Arizona Diamondback (68-94) – Well that was once of the shortest lived front office eras ever. Tony La Russa and Dave Stewart both came and went just like that. In their short time in Arizona, they flubbed it up big time. Expect Zach Grienke to start complaining soon.

MLB Awards

Rookie of the Year- Dansby Swanson/SS/Braves- Swanson will be a big part of the Braves inevitable climb out of the cellar.

Cy Young: Carlos Martinez/SP/Cardinals- I could be boring, and pick Kershaw, Cueto, Bumgarner, Arrieta, Scherzer, or any of the other big name starting pitchers in the National League. But I’m not going to. Instead, if the Cardinals are going to get into the postseason, Martinez will be a big reason why. Welcome to the over-paid elite of the National League aces Carlos Martinez.

MVP: Yoenis Cespedes/OF/Mets- All signs point to a “monster” season from Cespedes.

National League Playoffs

Wild Card Game: (Cardinals over Nationals) The Cardinals move onto the National League division series when third basemen Matt Carpenter doubles off the left field wall to score two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to win the game 4-2.

NLDS
Cardinals over Cubs: The Cardinals have some unfinished business in the Windy City. They are still bitter over the Cubs World Series win last year. There will be no repeat in Chicago. Cardinals will win in four games.

Mets over Giants: This is going to be a fantastically pitched series. Scoring will be at a premium. Mets will win in five.

NLCS
Mets over Cardinals: The Cardinals enter this series piping hot, and that’s one thing to note. So are the Mets. Carlos Martinez, the regular season Cy Young Award winner, struggles in the big moment, and the Mets win this series in six games. The NLCS MVP award goes to second basemen Neil Walker, who has a good series, and puts the Mets ahead for good in the 7th inning with a two run home run in game six.

American League Standings

MLB East

1. Boston Red Sox (94-68) – The Red Sox made big headlines this off season when they dumped their farm, including mega-prospect Yoan Moncada, to the Chicago White Sox for Chris Sale. The Red Sox, with Sale, Price, and 2016 AL Cy Young award winner Rick Porcello, now have a rotation that can compete with the best. Their bullpen still has issues though.

2. Baltimore Orioles (88-74) – The Orioles always seem to be right there, but not all the way there. 2017 will be no different. The good news is they got Mark Trumbo to stay in town and he should lead the league in home runs and RBI’s again.

3. Toronto Blue Jays (84-78) – The Blue Jays played hardball all off season with franchise anchors Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion. It cost them the latter. Still, this is a solid team, but not solid enough to contend.

4. Tampa Bay Rays (69-93) – The Rays are headed into a long rebuild, and they can no longer ignore the need to trade franchise cornerstone Evan Longoria. It’s time Tampa Bay, it’s time.

5. New York Yankees (63-99) – I can sense Yankees fans seething as they read this, but the Yankees, for the first time in a long, long, time, might be the worst team in the American League. I know you’re not torn up about it as you are reading this. I’m not either. Still, the Yankees are headed in the right direction, as it is 2017, and they can no longer simply wait for other team’s best players to hit the open market, and over-pay for them.

MLB Central

1. Cleveland Indians (96-66) – The Indians were one game away from stunning the world.  Still, this is a great team with a lot of young talent, especially in that rotation. Yowser. Another AL Central title is in the books for this bunch. But how much father can they go?

2. Kansas City Royals (85-77) – The Royals are not as good as they were a couple of years ago, but they are still good enough to make some noise. It won’t be enough though. How much longer can they wait before they have to start making decisions on who to keep, and who to trade?

3. Detroit Tigers (81-81) – The Detroit Tigers. Baseball’s new over the hill, old, mediocre team. I don’t think it could be any more obvious what they need to do. Now that Mike Illitch has passed away, and his son Chris spent the off season establishing control over the franchise, maybe now the Tigers can do what they need to do, and rebuild.

4. Minnesota Twins (76-86)- Okay, maybe we got a little ahead of ourselves a year ago, and jumped the gun on this team. Still, they had one of the most inexplicable starts ever a year ago, and they’re not that bad. They are farther along in their rebuild than that shows. They need an ace, and to be honest, had it not been for the bad start a year ago, they were going to go get Jose Fernandez via trade.

5. Chicago White Sox (68-94) – These White Sox made their intentions clear in the off season, and made two big trades to prove it. It’s rebuild time on the south side. First thing they have to do is find a way to get a handle on Yoan Moncada, and maybe get control of his checkbook too. My goodness, that man needs to learn to control his spending habits. Even the lavish “car guy” in Miami he went to, after he got his signing bonus had to tell him to chill.

MLB West

1. Houston Astros (93-69)- The Astros were the hot young team along with the Cubs a year ago, and many, including myself, were licking our chops at the thought of a Cubs-Astros World Series. Yeah, that didn’t happen. Still, this is a great young team. Come on Houston, show me something.

2. Texas Rangers (87-75) – The Rangers are a good club, a really good club. But they are not good enough to win the division. Still, a wild card is in play.

3. Seattle Mariners (80-82) – All those moves and the best they were able to muster was third place the last few years. Once again, a third place finish is on the tab for the Seattle. How long until Felix Hernandez, who has been patient, loyal, and uncomplaining, finally starts to complain?

4. Oakland Athletics (63-99) – I think Billy Beane has gotten a little too tricky for his own good in recent years. He is starting to outsmart himself, and not in a good way. I think it’s time for a different direction in the Bay Area in their front office.

5. Los Angeles Angels (59-103) – The Yankees would be the worst team in the American League entering 2017 if it weren’t for these guys. This is Mike Trout, and a bunch of nothing. It might be time to trade Trout one of these days.

MLB Awards

Rookie of the Year: Yoan Moncada/SS/White Sox- He will start the year in Triple A, but he will be called up towards the end of April (Teams do that with rookies to save a year of service time). He is wild, a loose cannon, but very talented.

Cy Young: Corey Kluber/SP/Indians- This Indians rotation is really good, and their ace is due for another CY Young award.

MVP: Jackie Bradley Jr./CF/Red Sox- Elite two-way center fielders that have great bats, are defensive anchors, and have five-plus “WAR’s” don’t grow on trees. Bradley wins his first MVP.

MLB Playoffs
Wild Card Game: Orioles over Rangers- Unlike the National League wild card game, this one will be an offensive affair, with Mark Trumbo hitting a bomb deep into the Baltimore night in the bottom of the 9th inning to win the game for the Orioles 8-6.

ALDS
Indians over Orioles- The Orioles have a lot of bats. October is about the pitchers though. Indians in four games and it’s really not much of a contest.

Red Sox over Astros- The Astros will be simply over matched in this series. It’s the same situation as the other one, not much to look at. Red Sox win in four games.

ALCS
Indians over Red Sox- The Red Sox have three great starting pitchers. The Indians entire rotation is great. On top of that they have the much better bullpen, and that bullpen is on full display in this series. Indians win in six games. Series MVP is first basemen/DH Carlos Santana.

World Series
Indians vs. Mets- This is going to be the best pitched playoff series in baseball history. There is no trying to go around that. The pitching is going to be phenomenal. This series is going to go the full seven, and every single game is going to be a low scoring nail biter. Mets win game seven, when Jacob DeGrom pitches a complete game shutout, ala Jack Morris, the Mets win the game 2-0, and DeGrom wins the World Series MVP award. The Mets will be world champions.
